UNDER-EYE WRINKLES

UNDER-EYE WRINKLES

[+] [×]

What are They?

Under-eye wrinkles are folds of the skin which are situated in the eye area. This is one of the most stimulated areas of the face, and therefore one of the 1st areas of the face to show aging signs.

Where do they come from?

The area of skin around the eyes is very fragile and complex. Here, the skin is sensitive and 3 to 5mms thinner than on the rest of the face. The dermis is also very thin and conjunctive tissue constituents such as GAG, elastin fibers and collagen fibers are found in very small amounts. This is why skin around the eyes ages quickly.

What can I do against them?

Due to its very thin area poor in lipids, the area around the eyes requires specific products capable of nourishing and reinforcing it. Sleep quality and diet also have a strong impact on this very fragile area.

DARK SPOTS

DARK SPOTS

[+] [×]

What are They?

Dark spots-also known as hyperpigmentation, age spots, solar lentigo, hyperkeratosis depending on their cause- are flat brown, gray, or black spots on the skin. The density of dark spots directly impacts skin homogeneity.

Where do they come from?

Dark spots are the consequences of melanin (skin pigment) overproduction. They usually occur on sun-exposed areas but can also be triggered by pollution or hormonal disorders.

What can I do against them?

UV and pollution are the main factors responsible for dark spots. That’s why, as for wrinkles, it is important to protect the skin all year long from UV including long UVA. To help reduce the look of dark spots already visible, use products with exfoliating acids as glycolic acid or fruits acid -A.H.A-

DEEP WRINKLES

DEEP WRINKLES

[+] [×]

What are They?

Wrinkles are the folds that form in your skin. They can be mechanical (due to repeated muscle contraction) or linked to sagging and gravity. With time, they become visible on all the face, with 15 different type of wrinkles.

Where do they come from?

Wrinkles are the results of intrinsic and extrinsic aging (environmental aggressions and lifestyle). They are caused by a decrease of the skin’s natural capacity to resist to aggression leading to a degradation of molecules essential for skin structure as collagen and elastin and GAG.

What can I do against them?

To avoid the aggravation of wrinkles, it is important to protect skin against UV exposure, use selected products targeting the specific type of wrinkles you may have.

PORES

PORES

[+] [×]

What are They?

From an anatomical point of view, pores correspond to openings of the skin through which hair and sebum reach the surface. In normal times, pores are not visible, but depending on skin type and age, they can become larger and more visible.

Where do they come from?

Even if excess sebum secreted remains the main factors of pores enlargement, it has also been proven that with loss of firmness and elasticity linked to aging, pores shape change and make them more visible .

What can I do against them?

If pores become more visible with age, use products targeting skin elasticity and firmness. If the skin is oily because of excess sebum, use products with salicylic acid to regulate sebum content and a weekly purifying mask. Pollution also triggers sebum secretion and impurities, which is why it is important to use anti-pollution products and to clean the skin every evening.

LACK OF RADIANCE

LACK OF RADIANCE

[+] [×]

What is it?

A skin with a lack of radiance (a dull skin) lacks luminosity due to a loss of the skin's ability to diffuse light.

Where does it come from?

When skin relief is not homogenous the physical properties of the light diffusion on the skin are impacted (reflection, retro-diffusion and absorption). This alteration of skin relief can be due to large pores, wrinkles, accumulation of dead cells or sebum for example.

What can I do against it?

In order to preserve your skin surface quality we recommend to cleanse the skin (even without make-up) every evening to remove pollution particles and impurities. Also, prioritize anti-pollution products capable of limiting pollution deposits on the skin. Finally, a weekly exfoliation will help eliminate dead cells.

FINE LINES

FINE LINES

[+] [×]

What are They?

Fine lines correspond to small folds on the skin, shallower than wrinkles. They are particularly visible in the areas of expression like eyes and forehead.

Where do they come from?

They often start appearing at the beginning of the aging process but can also reflect a lack of hydration or an over-solicited area.

What can I do against them?

Fine lines are the first step of wrinkles formation. It's important to protect the skin against UV & pollution with sun protection and antioxidants in order to prevent the look of wrinkles. Anti-wrinkles creams promote a youthful looking skin.

LACK OF FIRMNESS

LACK OF FIRMNESS

[+] [×]

What is it?

Also called ptosis, this lack of firmness is particularly visible at jaw lines and neck level due to the impact of gravity more visible with time.

Where does it come from?

Lack of firmness is due to a slackening of cutaneous tissue associated to a loss of collagen, “the armature of the skin” As this armature become less strong with time, impact of gravity become therefore more visible.

What can I do against it?

Sagging is inevitable but to avoid a fast development, protect your skin with UV protection and use products such as hyaluronic acid, which target skin firmness and ensure a good hydration of your skin.
